I’m shocked by Laura Berman’s Palin Derangement Syndrome on full display at the DetNews.com:
Palin wins by quitting while Granholm can’t win for tryingLaura Berman is jumping on the Sarah Palin hating wagon and her blinding hatred is drive her to the fringes sanity. Case and point: Laura Berman is comparing Sarah Palin to Jenifer Granholm. But Granholm — elected in 2002 on a combination of charisma, communication skills and intelligence — is mired by the state’s endless series of unfortunate events and badly matched personalities. Her star power wanes with every day she stays in a difficult game. By all rights, Palin ought to be at least as dead in the water. A failed vice presidential candidate, she quit her job as Alaska’s governor midway through her first term, ridiculing “lame duck” governors, and by inference, all governors who a don’t quit after one term or b who don’t quit in the middle of their first term.
I have one question, does anyone remember remember ‘Cool Cities’? That took some intellectual gravitas from Jennifer Granholm to put that economic juggernaut together. But, getting back to Laura’s point that Sarah Palin is a quitter. The reason Sarah Palin resigned from office was that she was subjected a series of frivolous lawsuits that she was required to answer legally. These actions cost her an exorbitant amount of money to address.
It seems Laura’s blinding hatred caused her to overlook that small detail. I wonder what Laura would have to say if Granholm was selected by “The One” to sit on the Supreme Court? Would Laura call Granholm a quitter for not finishing her last 18 months on the job “fighting for green jobs and heavily subsidized movies?” I doubt it.
Finally, Laura Berman’s hatred allows her column to descend into the realm of bitter high school gossip about the girl she doesn’t like (emphasis added):
Palin’s high heels and chesty bravado — and her indifference to proving herself as a policy wonk or scholar– are just fine with the “let Sarah be Sarah” crowd.
Laura Berman has a serious case of Palin Derangement Syndrome.
Is it caused by jealousy? Sarah Palin has published a best selling book and her Facebook page, where she publishes her op-ed’s, has over 1 million subscribers. Laura’s paper has a print circulation of 167,849 and less than 600,000 online readers. That’s gotta sting, just a little bit. And, I’m not sure, but, I would bet that Obama doesn’t read Laura Berman’s column, but he or his ‘people’ does read Sarah’s FB op-ed’s.
So, just who is the ‘policy wonk’? Is it Laura Berman, who isn’t read by Obama and his henchmen and is writing for a declining paper? Is it Jennifer Granholm, who has managed to lose jobs in every single year of her disastrous tenure as Governor of Michigan? Or is it Sarah Palin who has driven the debate of Socialized medicine, actually proposed real market solutions for energy and was a driving force behind nearly getting a conservative third party candidate elected to Congress.
I would say that’s not too bad for a ‘quitter’ former Governor and “failed” VP candidate. News flash to Laura Berman, McCain lost that election, not Sarah Palin.Maybe, if Laura and the rest of the DetNews writers were a bit more intellectually honest and a little less condescending to their readers, maybe they could get a few more subscribers and readers. And then, maybe. Just maybe. The DetNews could make a little more money and publish a paper, every day.

it is very clear and obvious that it was just a mere jealousy and envyness on laura’s part. who is laura anyway? Here in the Dutch Antilles Laura Berman was not well known, And Sarah Palin?? Well, no questions asked, but she is damn popular from the dutchmen. Her book is selling even in the islands of the dutch antilles.
@Raymond: Laura Berman is a ultra liberal local columnist for the Detroit News. She has written several annoying hit pieces against Sarah Palin.
The Dutch Antilles? Sounds very nice.
Just goes to prove my point, Sarah Palin is well known in the Dutch Antilles and Laura Berman… Not known.
Thanks for the excellent comment and please stop by again.
@sTEVE: You are welcome! What I am saying about Sarah Palin are facts. The Dutch Antilles (Aruba, St. Martin and Curacao) is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and perhaps you are aware that the head of our monarchy is Queen Beatriz, Her Excellency, a one tough woman leader. If you have time to visit the Dutch Antilles, you will see Sarah Palin’s book on sale at the duty free airports and these books are selling.I am among those Dutch citizens that feels intrigue and impress about the power and charisma of Sarah Palin even though some of her political views are contrary to mine. We in the Dutch Antilles are mixtures of conservatism and liberalism and we have great fear in God. I wonder if United States can try just for one time to have a female president, perhaps, a woman leader can make a big difference. I would suggest choosing either of the following: Hillary, Palin or Bachmann. My message is simple: If Obama can succeed in resolving the economic and security issues of United States, why change him?? However, if Obama cannnot fulfill to his hope and change promises and just continue to fail, then Americans can decide of changing the leadership in Washington. This is just plain and common sense approach. One thing Americans should learn from the past history. The Mighty Rome was not destroyed from the outside until it was destroyed from within by extreme liberalism of the radical left.
Palin Derangement Syndrome has been around for 18 months now, which by the standards of the American Psychiatric Association, qualifies it as a full blown mental illness, moving from a mere “syndrome” to Palin Derangement Disorder. By rights, it should be listed in the upcoming
Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th edition. In Alaska and elsewhere, there were people hoping that the eruption of the volacno there last year would strike an oil storage facility, and hoping that the price of oil would fall to $10 a barrel, just so that damage could be done to Palin, never mind the damage it would have done to the state, and the environment. People with PDD are very, very sick.
@gahanson: Palin Derangement Disorder (PDD), very interesting.
It amazes me how vicious the left is toward Sarah Palin.
I think they really fear her and her message because it truly resonates with people.
Thanks for the informative comment and please stop by again.
