Listen for yourself…
April 22nd is Earth Day:
And Vladimir Lenin’s birthday:
They lived in western Europe after 1900. At the 1903 meeting in London of the Russian Social-Democratic Workers’ Party, he emerged as the leader of the Bolshevik faction. In several revolutionary newspapers that he founded and edited, he put forth his theory of the party as the vanguard of the proletariat, a centralized body organized around a core of professional revolutionaries; his ideas, later known as Leninism, would be joined with Karl Marx‘s theories to form Marxism-Leninism, which became the communist worldview.
It an “odd” coincidence…

It’s a cool April evening on the RMS Titanic you strike a pose just like Kate or the little guy. The Atlantic air is refreshing. Life couldn’t get better. Unfortunately, later that that night, on April 14th, 1912, the ship enters an ice field in the North Atlantic. When the ship reaches its last known coordinates of 41° 44′N 50° 24’W, the Titanic strikes an iceberg and tragically sinks.
Map the night When The Titanic struck the iceberg
Nearly one hundred years later, on April 14th, 2009 you decided to retrace the rout of the doomed ocean liner. You sail to the Titanic’s last known coordinates. Even with all the climate ‘change’ you discover an ice field, similar to what sank the Titanic back in 1912.
Map of sea ice this week
Lately, ‘climate change’ or ‘global warming people’ are pointing to the ‘polar ice shelf collapsing’ as proof positive that the earth is warming. Don’t question them on it. As far as they’re concerned, this is a closed issue.
If the earth is warmer today, wouldn’t the polar ice caps be smaller? This would cause the ice fields of today to be less extensive and in a different location than in 1912? However, we have data showing that the ice fields are in the same location today as they were in 1912.
The fact is, ice in the Arctic region melt and freeze all the time, just ask Admiral Parry about the subject.

Gary Peters (Democrat Congressman from Michigan) is all about the Progressive agenda. He voted for the failed Stimulus bill, Cap and Trade and in favor of the seizure of 1/6th of the Americas economy. You know, for health care.
Now Democrat Gary Peters is all about strangling more of our economy:
Gary Peters is a progressive in ever sense of the word. He is all about Wealth redistribution and the power of government:
After hearing story after story about Wall Street firms giving millions in bonuses to the very people who helped create the financial crisis, many expressed their outrage. It’s not enough to simply talk about the egregiousness of these bonuses; it is also incumbent upon Congress to do something. I co-authored legislation to recover egregious bonuses to return them to taxpayers. This is a common-sense approach that constitutional scholars agree is legally sound. That’s why the House passed the bill by a bipartisan three-to-one margin and why so many Americans are behind this action. (emphasis added)
Sure, violate contracts and seize of private property of people the government doesn’t like and keep it. It’s not like the Gary Peters and the Federal Government is going write every American in the country a check for their share of the evil bonus from the greedy executives that they earned.
The funny thing is this political movement that Gary Peters and his Democrat cohorts is nothing new. The playbook is over 100 years old- Teddy Roosevelt used the same ideas in 1910:
It was the Republican TR, who insisted in his 1910 speech on the “New Nationalism” that there was a “general right of the community to regulate” the earning of income and use of private property “to whatever degree the public welfare may require it.” He was at one here with Democrat Woodrow Wilson, who had in 1885 condemned Americans’ respect for their Constitution as “blind worship,” and suggested that his countrymen dedicate themselves to the Declaration of Independence by leaving out its “preface” — i.e., the part of it that establishes the protection of equal natural rights as the permanent task of government.
No new ideas from Gary Peters and his Democrat cohorts, just the same tired old failed policies from the turn of the last century.

Subsidizing green energy in Spain has destroyed 2.2 jobs per every green job they created. Via Bloomberg:
Subsidizing renewable energy in the U.S. may destroy two jobs for every one created if Spain’s experience with windmills and solar farms is any guide.
For every new position that depends on energy price supports, at least 2.2 jobs in other industries will disappear, according to a study from King Juan Carlos University in Madrid.
It’s scary. Stabenow, Granholm and Obama are continuously touting ‘Green Jobs’ and the new inflationary government spending is going to be this miraculous job creating machine. In reality it dosn’t work. Not in Denmark. Not in Spain. Not in England. So, why are so many in the United States conviced it’s going to work here? More evidince Via Planet Gore:
- The study calculates that since 2000, Spain spent €571,138 to create each “green job,” including subsidies of more than €1 million per wind-industry job.
- Each “green” megawatt installed destroys 5.39 jobs on average elsewhere in the economy: 8.99 by photovoltaics, 4.32 by wind energy, 5.84 by mini-hydro.
In case you are wondering. 571,138 EUR converts to $759, 899 per green job and 1 million EUR converts to $ 1.33 million USD per wind industry job.
All to fix a non problem.

I caught an ad on the radio supporting Democrat Congressman Gary Peters (who voted for the flop ‘Stimulus Bill’) trying to make the case that the ‘climate change’ bill, or as it more accurately known as the largest tax increase in American history, is going to create green jobs, save the planet and all these other wonderful things. At the end, the ad stated how Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow should vote in favor of the bill in the Senate .
I couldn’t find the exact radio ad, but here is a similar ad:
The biggest claim the radio ad made was the climate change bill will create 53,000 jobs.
Why would anyone expect this boondoggle legislation to create any jobs, when the results from the actual job creating bill (the aforementioned ‘Stimulus Bill’) has not .
If you want real world results from a similar project look at Spain’s all out push for green energy and the 2.2 net jobs lost per every government subsidized green job created. Based on the actual results from Spain’s green energy push, Michigan can expect to lose 116,600 jobs in aggregate due to this new legislation supported by Congressman Gary Peters.
It’s funny how Democrats have changed the focus of the Cap & Trade climate change bill and portray it as some form of jobs bill. Because when you look at actual, measured temperatures, there is no global warming occurring.
If our concern is the polar bears in the arctic, there has been no global warming or climate change Arctic. To back up the claim, the following are observations from the Centre for Ocean and Ice – Danish Meteorological Institute:
The daily mean temperature of the Arctic area north of the 80th northern parallel is estimated from the average of the 00z and 12z analysis for all model grid points inside that area. The ERA40 reanalysis data set from ECMWF, has been applied to calculate daily mean temperatures for the period from 1958 to 2002, from 2002 to 2006 data from the global NWP model T511 is used and from 2006 to present the T799 model data are used.
The ERA40 reanalysis data, has been applied to calculation of daily climate values that are plotted along with the daily analysis values in all plots. The data used to determine climate values is the full ERA40 data set, from 1958 to 2002.
Arctic temperatures, as measured by the DMI, demonstrate that temperature observations have remained stable over the last 50 years.
The following charts show temperatures in degrees kelvin with the blue horizontal line marking 32 deg /F (273.5 deg / K). The red curve represents the observed mean temperature on the given day of the year. The green curve is the average mean temperature derived from observation for the last 50 years.
Temperature through June 2009
Temperatures from 2008
Temperatures from 1988
Temperatures from 1958
Temperature’s in Gary Peters district are stable as are the temperatures in the Arctic. Furthermore, Cap and Trade is a proven job’s killer. So, why are Democrats like Gary Peters adamant about shredding our economy with this blatant nonsense about global warming?
Temperature have been stable over the last 40 years in Pontiac, why should they pay $350 / month in additional energy costs due to ‘global warming’?

If this wasn’t such a serious issue, it would be funny.
Michigan’s other dynamic duo in Washington (in the House Of Rep’s) Mark “I voted for the flop stimulus bill” and Gary “I thought I was voting for a jobs bill” Peters are now trying to position themselves as deficit hawks. Even the Detroit News isn’t buying this one.
Pelosi and the Democrats will go to great lengths to protect Peters and Schauer, AKA dependable rubber stamp votes for the big government Democrat agenda.
Progressives have been proposing the same agenda since Teddy Roosevelt (in the early 1900′s). Case and point, an excerpt of LBJ’s great society speech at the University Of Michigan in 1964 (emphasis added):
Many of you will live to see the day, perhaps 50 years from now, when there will be 400 million Americans — four-fifths of them in urban areas. In the remainder of this century urban population will double, city land will double, and we will have to build homes, highways, and facilities equal to all those built since this country was first settled. So in the next 40 years we must re-build the entire urban United States.
Aristotle said: “Men come together in cities in order to live, but they remain together in order to live the good life.” It is harder and harder to live the good life in American cities today.
The catalog of ills is long: there is the decay of the centers and the despoiling of the suburbs. There is not enough housing for our people or transportation for our traffic. Open land is vanishing and old landmarks are violated.
Worst of all expansion is eroding the precious and time honored values of community with neighbors and communion with nature. The loss of these values breeds loneliness and boredom and indifference.
46 years later BHO (Obama) speaking to a group of City Mayors:
… and we expect you to use it. Already, we’ve met with you and the Conference of Mayors over a half-a-dozen times. Too often in the past, America’s cities have been neglected and our mayors haven’t had — haven’t been able to be heard on the questions of national policy. That’s a story you all understand and know very well.
But we know how important cities are. Sixty-five percent of our nation’s population, as you all know, live in our cities. Our cities are the home of 7 out of 10 American jobs. And when you’re talking about the knowledge economy jobs, the number rises to 8 in 10, 8 out of 10.
Cities are vital to our economy, essential to our recovery, and haven’t been paid much attention to. Our economy can never reach, in our view, its full potential if we have people who are living blocks away, but worlds away from the bustling downtowns full of opportunity.
Our poor transportation system don’t provide mobility when people need to get to the job or — or there aren’t enough police or firefighters in the communities to keep the communities safe.
And that’s why the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act President Obama signed this week, I think, includes unprecedented investment in American cities.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Rham “never let a crisis go to wast” Emmanuel was blindsided by the news that Goldman Sachs was being sued by the SEC:
It’s like Obama is completely detached from the happenings around the world. Yet, strangely, Obama and his henchmen already have a sophisticated PR campaign deployed:
A new White House ad that pops up on Google searches for “Goldman Sachs SEC” features a plea by President Obama for financial reform, and is creating its own controversy. The ad is triggering praise as a smart bit of cyber marketing, but is also being cited as possible evidence of White House pressure in a financial investigation.
The first result for a search of the terms “Goldman Sachs SEC” brings users to a sponsored link titled “Help Change Wall Street.” Clicking the link takes users to a page on barackobama.com, featuring a photo of the president accompanied by a quote about Wall Street reform and a prompt to register with the site.
“We’ve seen and lived the consequences of what happens when there’s too little accountability on Wall Street and too little protection for Main Street. It is time for real change,” the quote reads.
A Democratic Party source confirmed the ad was bought by the White House political wing, Organizing for America, and said it was part of a strategy to purchase Internet ads pegged to the most talked about issues on any given day. The organization buys ads targeting the words people are most often searching. In recent weeks the White House political arm has bought ads with the keywords: “wall street reform,” “AIG” and “big bank bailout.”
“It is another great example of why the Obama Internet guys are the smartest guys on the block,” said Phil Noble founder of Politics Online, a Web site that tracks how the Internet is used in politics.
Either their PR guys are the smartest guys on the block or they had a head start. Remember, this is the same government that can’t get ObamaCare rolling until 2014…
