About 10-12 years ago I was hanging out at Duggans on a Thursday with a few friends, and somebody came up to me and asked if I wanted some tickets to go see Bad Company (who was playing Pine Knob that Saturday). I can’t recall exactly the whole conversation (drinks and pretty girls were involved), but said I was interested, Saturday right?
The girl with the tickets looked at me and said no, these are for tomorrow night at Royal Oak Music Theater. It’s a private show. I took a few tickets but wasn’t sure what to believe.
The next night I went down to the Royal Oak Music Theater with 2 of the guys who were with me at Duggans. Place was virtually empty. A local band played a brief set until there were maybe 100 people in the theater. Probably less. Everyone was standing right up at the stage. And sure as shit, out comes Bad Company!
They played close to 2 hours. They weren’t handing the tickets out like candy the previous night either. I still don’t know how I ended up with tickets. But it was an amazing show! One of the best I’ve seen.
Rogers is amazing, even after all of these years. I mean, when did Free start, the late 60′s? Amazing vocalist! That, and Brian May has the best tone ever!

That is so cool! The Royal Oak music theater is a great place to see a show and to catch Bad Co. at a private show would be unbelievable.
I’ve only seen Paul Rodgers once, back when he was touring with Jimmy Page.

It is amazing how well Brian May and Paul Rodgers work together to perform Queen and Bad Co. / Free songs.
