I wonder if all those people who say ‘I will never purchase a Chrysler or GM’ because of the bailout are going to boycott GE appliances?
Obama has packed his administration with Wall Street bailout babies like JPMorgan rainmaker Bill Daley and corporate-welfare queens like General Electric CEO Jeff Immelt, both of whom love “investing in America,” by which they mean “investing in politically connected enterprises such as JPMorgan and GE.” GE derives a great deal of its revenue from government contracts, including a recent Pentagon project described as a “wasteful boondoggle” by the secretary of defense himself. GE lobbied hard to fill the federal swill pail to the brim during the debate over the stimulus, and then began helping itself to the energy subsidies and green-tech goodies doled out thereafter.
Here is an example of GE ‘partnering’ with the EPA to ‘invest’ in our infrastructure:
With this agreement, GE and the U.S. EPA will work with third parties to create a sensor-based, data-driven, and software-assisted system for drinking water distributions. The goal would be to optimize water quality improvement and minimize energy usage. By doing so, the product could assist water utilities and other end users with “greener” distribution network operations and enhanced regulatory compliance.
More taxpayer money down the drain.
Yes. I’m done with GE too.
We need to get the government out of the private sector and let companies compete without interference.
You do have to wonder if GE didn’t exist would we have half the “green” initiatives that we do currently?
I’m sure if GE didn’t swoop in to feed at the trough, I’m sure some other company would’ve stepped in for the “free money.”
Don’t care, they did, I won’t.
