MCT Person Of The Year 2012: The Low Information Voter

Time magazine recently announced (predictably) that Dear Leader as their ‘person of the year.’

One group of people more fitting ‘person of the year’ would be the Low Information Voter. The people who have enabled Obama and his cohorts with another four years in office.

Low Information Voters can scarcely recall the name of their state governor or list the thee branches of the Federal Government yet will tell you with complete conviction that the Keystone Pipeline is bad and that Obama is the greatest thing ever.

In 2012, the low information voter has set the course of this country for the next decade at a minimum. However, given this enormous responsibility, they will give a blank stare if you mention John Maynard Keynes and respond “didn’t he write the Deceleration” if you ask one who is Adam Smith.

Remember, Low Information Voters have an enormous feeling of self-importance and strong opinions. Just don’t ask them to elaborate, it gets a little murky once you get past the bumper sticker platitudes.

I absolutely agree Steve! No group of people had more of impact on America than the uninformed voter.

Yep, they have steered our country in the complete wrong direction and it will take a long time to unwind.

I hope you’re right that it is the uniformed because the alternative is much scarier.

      Me too.

We don’t get the government we want. We get the government they deserve. That’s what I call social injustice.

We produce High School and College graduates who have no clue about history, government or economics and we get the government we deserve. It’s damn frustrating, but true.
