Super Bowl Sunday has finally arrived. Everyone has their squares filled in and are ready to sit through a usually mediocre football game to watch the commercials.
If you are like me, half time is an opportunity to do something productive for about a half hour. Productive things like getting more chip and dip, flipping the channel to catch part of the latest How It’s Made Marathon or call your brother to discuss the game so far. All these activities prevent you from watching the half time show debacle.

The Black Eyed Peas were awful but Chubby Checker lip syncing “c’mon everyone do the Super Bowl twist” is so bad I think a lot of people have created a mental block to prevent re-living it.
A bad walk down memory lane. I understand that the Arabs are upset over a CocaCola ad showing an Ahab the Arab and his camel trying beat different infidels to a source of Coke. So, it will be interesting to see if CocaCola does the “politically correct” thing and let Ahab win.

They are really bad… and what’s worse is there’s a lot more where that came from.
When my first child was about two, back in the early 80′s, I stopped watching TV. I never even think to watch the Super Bowl, much less the half time shows, but plenty of good people do. I do hope the game has not degenerated as much as the rest of what passes for entertainment.
