Chris Cillizza ‘Forgot’ Sarah Palin
According to Chris Cillizza, Republicans and by definition Conservatives are in demographic trouble. Via The Fix:
Quick — think of the three faces of the Republican party: Dick Cheney, Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich immediately come to mind.
What do these men all have in common? They are over 50 years old, male, white and staunchly conservative.
That — in a nutshell — is the problem facing Republicans today, an imbroglio cast in sharp relief by a new analysis by Gallup of more than 26,000 interviews conducted in May.
Nearly nine in ten (89 percent) Republicans are white with the vast majority of those people describing themselves as “conservative” (63 percent). Just seven percent of Republicans are either Hispanic (five percent) or black (two percent).
Chris is so wrong on so many levels. Republicans and Conservatism is not, and should not be, about race and gender. It’s about ideas, self reliance & closely held beliefs. Ask anyone, regardless of their race or gender, “do you want to keep more of what you earn?” The overwhelming majority would say yes. Ask anyone “do you want more government control in your life?” The overwhelming answer would be no. This is why Liberal Socialist Democrats have co-opted the green movement to obfuscate their true intention of exercising greater control of American lives.
Conservative Republicans ideas and beliefs mesh extremely well with the vast majority of Americans. Republicans need someone who can clearly explain why our way is better, and this is why Chris Cilliza intentionally omitted Sarah Palin from his ‘face of the Republican Party’ article.

Liberal Socialist Democrats fear her, because she can be the ‘face’ of Conservative Republicans and rally Americans to our cause and beliefs.

When I think of the GOP, the first person who comes to mind is Sarah Palin. Gingrich doesn’t even enter my mind any more. There is also Michelle Bachman of MN. Neither of them are old men by anyones stretch of the imagination.
Me too, but that doesn’t fit the narrative. Republicans are old white men.
Good call about Michele Bachmann BTW.
Thanks for stopping by!
