Democrats Running Flint Into The Ground

Democrats have been running the city of Flint since the mid 60’s and with only one Republican Mayor since 1966, Paul Visser. Democrats have amassed a record of economic devastation and a shrinking population.

Today, Democrats Running Flint, such as Democrat Genesee County Treasurer, Daniel Kildee has proposed a plan to bulldoze 40% of the city of Flint in order to ’save’ the city. Flint’s long time Congressional Representative, and Daniel Kildee’s uncle, Democrat Dale Kildee recently voted to increase taxes by $250 / month on Flint residents to, you know, create jobs and to combat global warming or climate change (depends on the weather).

Recently resigned Democrat Mayor Don Williamson, who’s term was summed up recently by MLive.com this way:

The mayor initially won a term as mayor in 2003, and then was re-elected in 2007 in a close election against challenger Dayne Walling.

Since then, there’s been a string of bad news, including budget deficits, layoffs, controversy over a proposed drag strip and turmoil at City Hall.

Williamson has pointed to some successes in the city, including the revitalization of downtown and the new alternative energy plant.

Flint voters in 2002 recalled then-Mayor Woodrow Stanley — an election that led to a state takeover.

Hardly a ringing endorsement. The thing that amazes me that its rarely pointed out that Democrat policy and agenda has been a flat out failure in Flint for nearly 45 years. With all the devastation that Democrat ‘leadership’ has brought to the City of Flint, who is running to replace Democrat Mayor Williamson?

Two more Democrats, Dayne Walling and Brenda Clack.

Careful… if you mention the word “Flint” the Left will accuse you of hating urban residents and the whole concept of the “city.”

And whatEVER you do, don’t mention the word “bulldoze.” Sure, Democrats suggested bulldozing the vacant parts of the city, and sure every other Democrat was OK with the suggestion but as soon as a conservative agreed with the suggestion he became the devil.

Then again, consistency has never been the Left’s strong suit.

We certainly wouldn’t want to accuse GM of having some role in Flint’s problems, would we?

Sure, GM was Flint’s largest employer and closed up shop, but Roger & Me was released 20 years ago (1989) & I would think the Democrat leadership of the city could come up with a better plan than the bulldozing large swaths of the city and raising taxes.

I think the people of Flint (and Detroit for that matter) deserve better leadership and economic opportunity. The Dem’s are not providing it and have not provided it for decades.

Thanks for the comment and stopping by.
