I’m happy they stayed with the downtown core and stadium area, though I wish maybe they’d showcased Belle Isle. There’s already enough Ruin Porn out there on Detroit. Sadly, none of that seems to energize anyone to actually save any of Detroit’s architectural or historical gems. Witness the Michigan Central Depot and the Packard plant as just two prominent victims. Unfortunately, there are hundreds more.
@Cynical Synapse: A few years back, I too a friend to a Red Wing game and we wound up a bit early. He grew up in the city and took me on an eye opening tour around some of the neighborhoods. It was really sad looking at what has happened to all the old homes and buildings.
But hey, this is what happens when liberal dem’s run everything for nearly 50 years.
I wanted them to go through the parts of the city that are empty. That, and the Packard factory.
@Matt: Visiting the ‘ruins’ of Detroit are starting to become popular. Kinda like a real life episode of the TV show “Life After People.”
