Just To Give You A Flavor Of The PelosiCare Bill
This is a liberal Democrats fantasy bill. I’m working my way through the bill, and this caught my eye (pg. 1210):
Subtitle D—Adapting Workforce to Evolving Health System Needs
PART 1—HEALTH PROFESSIONS TRAINING FOR DIVERSITY
Sec. 2241. Scholarships for disadvantaged students, loan repayments and fellowships regarding faculty positions, and educational assistance in the health professions regarding individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Sec. 2242. Nursing workforce diversity grants.
Sec. 2243. Coordination of diversity and cultural competency programs.
PART 2—INTERDISCIPLINARY TRAINING PROGRAMS
Sec. 2251. Cultural and linguistic competency training for health professionals.
Sec. 2252. Innovations in interdisciplinary care training.
The bill isn’t looking to train the members of the health care industry in the latest techniques or technology. They are not supporting training in the latest pharmaceutical innovations.
What in the world is a ‘Nursing workforce diversity grant‘ have to do with insuring the uninsured population?
Nothing.

are you anti-diversity?
@kevin:
I’m just wondering how ‘ a nursing workforce diversity grant’ and ‘Coordination of diversity and cultural competency programs’ are going to lower health care costs and provide the uninsured people health insurance. This is what the bill is about? Right?
I suppose the logic is that having nurses who speak foreign languages and are sensitive to diverse groups and different cultures will lead to lower health care costs? And in a way that is dramatically lower than tort reform or competition across state lines, which are pointedly not in the bill? This kind of logic is the kind of silly stuff you can expect when you vote Democrat.
@A Conservative Teacher: This whole bill is about everything except choice, competition, providing insurance to the uninsured and lowering costs.
