Rationing In The Post ObamaCare World
With the Government mandated contraction of the health care industry, how will the Federal Government decide who receives what medical care? Via The Strata-Sphere:
If anyone doubts Obamacare is not just rationing, but rationing
based on your pre-existing conditions, here are some eye openers.
First, Obamacare relies on cutting health care costs (which means
cutting health care services) for the elderly and poor:Obama’s health care proposal is, in effect, the repeal of the Medicare program
as we know it. The elderly will go from being the group with the most
access to free medical care to the one with the least access. Indeed,
the principal impact of the Obama health care program will be to reduce
sharply the medical services the elderly can use. No longer will their
every medical need be met, their every medication prescribed, their
every need to improve their quality of life answered. And it gets worse. The man behind the plan is Rahm Emanuel’s brother who
authored one of those marxist like theories about who should be given
care and who should get the left overs. Only the best get the care of course:This system incorporates five principles: youngest-first,
prognosis, save the most lives, lottery, and instrumental value. … When
implemented, the complete lives system produces a priority curve on
which individuals aged between roughly 15 and 40 years get the most substantial chance, whereas the youngest and oldest people get chances that are attenuated.
Chilling isn’t it?
It’s clear when Obama says he want’s to cut costs and save money, he means that the Federal Government will decide who gets what care. They will ration it.
They will ration your access to physicians, medication & specialists. Directly, as described above using an actuarial calculation (sounds cold, doesn’t it?). However, they will limit your access through indirect means as well. If the Democrat plan is enacted with it’s price control mechanisms, forcing the cost of medical services artificially low, many practices will simply go out of business. Fewer physicians will be able (or willing) to provide medical services at the artificially low prices. Practicing medicine is a business after all.
Imagine your five year old child is really sick, and due to an actuarial calculation performed by the government, you are assigned a three week waiting period before you can see your physician. Your child’s condition is worsening and you decide you can’t wait any longer and you become frustrated and upset, what do you do? Do you bribe someone to bump up your appointment? Do you try and find a true private practice (if they are allowed) and pay exorbitant prices?
As Dick Morris said, Americans are not use to hearing the word ‘NO’. The ObamaCare plan will familiarize us with the word.

And about that Obama promise… “you can keep your plan” …
