Scientist Not Sure Why Glacier In Argentina Is Growing
Scientists are not sure why glacier in Argentina is growing. Via MSNBC:
Nourished by Andean snowmelt, the glacier constantly grows even as it spawns icebergs the size of apartment buildings into a frigid lake, maintaining a nearly perfect equilibrium since measurements began more than a century ago.
“We’re not sure why this happens,” said Andres Rivera, a glacialist with the Center for Scientific Studies in Valdivia, Chile. “But not all glaciers respond equally to climate change.
Yesterdays global warming is tomorrow’s climate change. It’s apparent that scientists don’t have a good handle on this or they are not performing the function of skeptic and are buying in to the hype.

My question is; if the mean temperature where I live has not changed in 40 years, and the daily mean temperature in the Arctic has not changed in 50 years, can we say the climate is not changing?
An extra big tip ‘O the hat to my brother and loyal reader Brian!

Science is being proved nearly daily to be based on a particular scientist’s view of how they want things to be not how they really are. A good example of this is “Dr. Rodney McKay” on the Sci-Fi show Stargate: Atlantis. Rodney (brilliantly played by David Hewlett) is a brilliant yet arrogant scientist who is determined to never be proven wrong no matter what. This is what we are just now finding out about our most “brilliant” scientists, they have their agenda and they will use any false model to make their science true when they find their science is false.
Sadly, my brilliant uncle, Henry E. Fleming, has passed on. He is one of the men credited with creating the technology that allows satellites to measure the Earth’s temperatures. I am sure he would be astounded at how his invention is being misused today.
By the way, how did you insert that chart into your webpage?
I’m sure your Uncle would be devastated to see how science is being hi-jacked for politics, greed and control.
The way I inserted this and other charts is I take a screen grab using the ALT+Print Screen and then past the screen image in to PowerPoint or Open Office Impress. Then I crop the image down and add any notation. Next, save the PowerPoint as either a JPEG or PNG file from PowerPoint using the Save As button. Lastly, upload the image to WordPress. It sounds like a long ordeal, but it is a really quick process.
By the way, did you click over to the Woilfram Alpha site? It’s kind of cool. In a nerdy sort of way.
Thanks for the info. Yeah I did check that site out and found that the entire state’s mean temperature hasn’t changed. Looks just like the Milford chart you posted.
You can check Santa Fe, Atlanta, Houston, Ann Arbor, they are all constant or slightly lower. Is the entire world warming up except the places I picked?
Wolfram is an interesting tool. A little tricky to work with, but you can find some interesting things out.
