Senate Panel Wants To Use National Forests To ‘Store’ Carbon… Dioxide and Stop ‘Global Warming’
Uhhh… O.K.
WASHINGTON — The nation’s top Forest Service official says national forests can store more carbon to slow global warming, but he warns that such a goal must be balanced against the risk of catastrophic wildfires.Forest Service Chief Tom Tidwell told a Senate panel on Wednesday that his agency is trying to manage forests to combat climate change while still easing the risk of wildfires.
The Forest Service is trying to thin out young trees and underbrush to control wildfires that are increasing in frequency and intensity in part because of global warming.
The Forest Service and Interior Department spent about $2.4 billion last year fighting fires, double the average amount spent a decade ago.
Store carbon...as in carbon dioxide, the stuff we exhale and is not responsible for either “climate change” or global warming.

I’m curious, just how do you “store” carbon in a forest? Feds must really think we are dumb.
@WadeHM: Honestly, they really care what we think.
They will keep saying the same nonsense… Health care will be deficit neutral, we will create green jobs, stimulus will create jobs all the while they are writing laws to seize as much control and power as possible.
As far as ’storing’ carbon (dioxide, they rarely say dioxide) I have no clue how they plan on making this work.
