The White House Is Picking Winners

How about cutting taxes and stop interfering with the free market economy and let the economy make jobs? Via the DetNews:

The White House today will award $2.4 billion in grants for research on advanced batteries and vehicle components, and to purchase plug-in electric vehicles.

President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Energy Secretary Steven Chu will announce the 48 winners in Indiana, Michigan and North Carolina.

Matt Rogers, an Energy Department advisor, said the grants will create “tens of thousands of jobs.”

We have lost millions of jobs and the White House is strutting around like Jennifer Granholm as they announce the subsidizing “tens of thousands of jobs” spread over several states.

By the way, if this grant truly creates “tens of thousands of jobs” the will be expensive. If this plan comes to fruition, and actualy makes 50,000 jobs (the mid point, of “tens of thousands”) each job will cost tax payers $48,000. Where is the logic in this?
