Yngwie Malmsteen: Smoke On The Water

I’m not normally a big Yngwie fan. I saw him a few years ago at a G3 show with Steve Vai and Joe Satriani. After about 5 min’s was thinking is all this guy going to play the same notes over and over at warp speed?
That being said, I think this is about the best version of Smoke On The water I’ve heard….
I used to love to listen to Malmsteen in my younger days! The guy could lick a bad axe!
At the G3 show,during the big jam at the end of show with Vai and Stariani, Yngwei was trying to out hot dog Vai. And during one back and forth and Vai played a run and I wish I had a camera. The look of disbelief on Yngwie’s face was priceless.
That being said, these guys like Yngwie, Vai, Satriani, Paul Gilbert and Eddie Van Halen are amazing talents…
And I haven’t outgrown them.
